Lafazan Cop Attack Backfires, Loses All Support

By Chris O'Neill

Nassau Legislator Joshua Lafazan (D-Syosset) was publicly humiliated this week when his attacks against his election opponent, local attorney and mom Samantha Goetz, backfired - spectacularly.

Lafazan sent-out a series of political mailers attacking Goetz, claiming she has "no endorsements” from law enforcement and falsely boasting that he - Lafazan - had “all the police support.”

Except Lafazan didn’t have their support. None of it. Up until this week none of the major police unions had weighed in on the race.

This past Thursday, all the police unions unanimously endorsed Samantha Goetz.

“I am proud to have the support of the heroes who protect our community - the Nassau County PBA, Nassau County Detectives, and the Superior Officers,” said Goetz.

Goetz has also racked up endorsements from the Long Island Federation of Labor, an organization known to usually support Democrats, and the CSEA.

“It is absolutely unprecedented for an incumbent like Lafazan to lose all the major union and police endorsements,” said one political observer. "But there is a good reason."

“Everyone has caught onto Lafazan’s endless fake schemes - and they are tired of it. This has to be one of the largest political repudiations in Long Island history.”
