Bluefish Tournament Returns to Oyster Bay

The 36th Annual Bluefish Tournament is scheduled for Sunday September 18th.

Hosted by the Town of Oyster Bay, Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that the tournament will begin at 4:30AM. and end at 4:00PM on the 18th.

A tailgate party, including winner presentations and raffle, will take place starting at 4:00PM on the beach at Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay. Raffle winners must be present to receive their prize.

“The Bluefish Tournament is a great all-day sporting event,” said Saladino. “Join us for this fun day of tranquility on the water, the adrenaline rush of feeling that first big tug on your fishing line and the spirit of competition as you try to beat the tournament record and compete for prizes.”

The tournament is open to all ages. All participants must be pre-registered. The fee is $40 for Town of Oyster Bay residents and $60 for non-residents. Those registered before September 13th will receive a tournament t-shirt. All contestants will automatically be entered in a special raffle.

Winners will receive a plaque and gift certificate: 1st Place – $1,000; 2nd Place – $750; 3rd Place – $500; 4th Place – $400; 5th & 6th Places – $300; 7th & 8th Places – $100; 9th & 10th Places – $100.
