Child Molester Arrest at Broadway Mall

A Woodbury man was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child on Monday, January 20th. Multiple incidents resulting in the arrest occurred earlier that afternoon at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville.

Arrersted was Hector Castro, 52, of 146 Piquets Lane, in Woodbury. According to police, Castro approached a male juvenile, age 7, and began grabbing and stroking the child’s leg inappropriately. The male victim’s mother screamed and confronted Castro after witnessing this occur, and Castro then walked away. A short time later, Castro approached a female juvenile, age 11, and groped her inappropriately.

The girl called for help, and Castro allegedly fled the scene. Responding officers located Castro at a nearby location, and placed him under arrest. Defendant Castro is charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was arraigned on Tuesday, January 21, 2019 at First District Court. Police ask anyone who may have information to contact Second Squad Detectives at (516) 573-6352.
