Glen Cove Musician on TV


Jason Crosby, who was raised in Glen Cove, a graduate of Glen Cove High School, and son of The Leader reporter Victoria Crosby, recently performed on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and on Stephen Colbert Show, with singer Jenny Lewis. The band also recently performed at Forest Hills Stadium opening for Death Cab for Cutie.

A multi-instrumentalist, piano, violin and guitar to name a few, Crosby has toured and recorded with many legendary artists, including Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Pete Seeger, Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Robert Randolph, and Susan Tedeschi among others.

Over the years he has performed on the stages of the world’s biggest festivals, and appeared on television everywhere from The Tonight Show and Austin City Limits to Jools Holland and the GRAMMY Awards, where he played keyboard in the tribute to Funk with Outkast, the original P-Funk, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Now living in California, he gigs with Jackie Greene, The Mother Hips, John McLaughlin and Jimmy Herring, Moonalice, Doobie Decibal System and Grateful Dead icons Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. Crosby tours with Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band. Crosby’s most recent CD, of his own compositions, is titled Cryptologic.
