CONNOLLY, Peter of Bayville, on March 2, 2010 age 77. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Philip (Laura), Ann Marie Woodruff (Duane) and Peter Jr. (Denise). SCHWED, Andre G. “Mike”, 83, of Red Hook, died Monday, March 1, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. A local resident for the last 34 years, he previously lived in Bayville.
Born January 11, 1927 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Andrew Schwed and Catherine (Zawadiuk) Schwed. On Nov. 20, 1954, in the Bronx, Mike married Louise A. Nordling. She survives him at home.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for IBM in Kingston, NY as a Customer Engineer.
Mike attended St. Christopher’s Church in Red Hook, and was a longtime member of Robert H. Spittel Post #1285, American Legion in Bayville.
During World War II he served in the US Merchant Marine, and then enlisted in the US Army.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his 5 children: Anne (Frank) Cronin of Willimantic, CT, Mary (Chris) Cecil of Ft. Collins, CO, Patricia (Patrick) Baker of Morristown, NY, Steven Schwed of Mellenville, NY, and Michael (Diana England) Schwed of Nantucket, MA. Nine grandchildren also survive him.
A Mass of Christian Burial St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook, with the Rev. Xavier Santiago officiating.
