BINNING, Vivian E. "Rex" of Glen Cove, formerly of Georgetown, Guyana, on January 29, age 76. Former husband of Masie. Father of Vanessa, Brian and the late Manley. Brother of Wilma, Norma, Betty, Jacky, Regina, Deanna, George and the late Barbara and Verna. Grandfather of Simonette-Maria, Keysha and Myles. Rex was a mechanical engineer for Guyana Airlines. Van Ingen, Evelyn Harris died peacefully at her home with her family surrounding her on January 22 at the age of 78. Evelyn attended The Green Vale School and received its highest award, the Derby Medal, in 1946. She then went to the Garrison Forest School, Owings Mills, MD, class of ‘49, and graduated from Briarcliff Junior College, Briarcliff Manor, NY, in 1951. Evelyn studied to be an occupational therapist at the College of Physicians and Surgeons for one year at New York Presbyterian Hospital before marrying Lawrence B. Van Ingen on June 7, 1952. Evelyn was on the board of trustees of The Green Vale School, serving faithfully on many committees for ten years. She was an extremely active member of St. Johns of Lattingtown Episcopal Church, Locust Valley. In that capacity, she served as the President of the Episcopal Church Women, ran the annual church fair, taught the second grade Sunday school class and was the first female senior warden of St. Johns and of the Diocese of Long Island from 1980 through 1986. Evelyn also spent time as a hospice volunteer. Evelyn is survived by her children Lawrence B. Van Ingen III (Laurie Noel), Anne H. Van Ingen (Wesley Haynes), Mary V.I. (Robert Courtemanche) and Evelyn V.I. (John Fell); her grandchildren, Philip, Margaret, Edwin, Peter, David and Katherine; her sister, Mary Ann H. Livens; and her brother, David W. Harris. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, her brother, Henry U. Harris, Jr and her sister, Joan Harris Hawkey.
