Locust Valley Alleged Abduction Ends Without Incident

A possible domestic dispute, involving an alleged abduction, ended without further incident around 9pm on Monday, February 22. The initial report indicated a “possible kidnapping,” around 7:50pm that same evening. It was at that time that neighbors in the community reported seeing police helicopter activity as well as squad cars in the vicinity of Tenth Street in Locust Valley when an apparent lovers’ quarrel went awry.
According to neighbors, the police went from house to house looking for the alleged victim. Residents were told to stay inside. The search, including a canine unit, even went into Coffin Woods.
When reached on Tuesday morning, second precinct police said that the case was still under investigation and details were sketchy. They would confirm, however, that the woman was safely back at home. As of press time, no names were released. The Leader will report in further detail in our March 3 issue.
