Pedestrian Fatality In Glen Cove

On April 12, at 6:45 a.m. a pedestrian was struck and killed by an auto on Pratt Blvd., Glen Cove.
75-year old Evelio Armas of Glen Cove was walking across Pratt Blvd (at a non-crosswalk location), when he was struck by a pick-up truck being operated by 62- year old man, who was on his way to work. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not injured.
Armas was taken by ambulance to North Shore LIJ Hospital at Glen Cove, where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent’s family has been notified. His wife stated to police that he went out for a walk almost every morning.
Glen Cove Police detectives do not anticipate any charges being filed against the driver.
