Electrical Fire on Duck Pond Road

• LC Colgate
During the wet and windy weather of Sunday, October 18, a primary wire fell down on Duck Pond Road across the street from the main entrance to Friends Academy. According to the Glen Cove Police Department, the wire came down in an isolated area. No homes were at risk from the fire and no one was injured. Several homes were without power for the remainder of the afternoon and the street was closed for repairs and police investigation.
